Design
The designer owns who we build for and what it is like to use.
In the age of AI
Principle: We trust humans over AI in creative endeavors and in strategic choices about design. AI is good for rapid concepts and tedious work.
AI changes how this role works. It doesn't replace the role. Here is what changes, and what stays with the human.
AI is a starter and a tool for research. The designer verifies it through triangulation and independent, primary research of their own.
AI speeds up prototyping and the tedious parts of design. The designer owns the final design choices, the design system, the user flows, the interaction design, the aesthetics, and the rest.
AI is a possible interaction or solution. The designer focuses on the persona, the context, and the problem to solve, and chooses and designs the interaction.
